The regular business meeting of Atlanta OutWorlders was held on Sunday, 17 May, 2009, at 11:33 am at Atlanta Diner. Vandy Beth Glenn, Dan Benge, Kris Harter, Edward DeGruy, Aimee Love, Robert Marshall, Wm Boozer, Ken Fernandez, Jeff Smith, and Russ Broomfield were present. President DeGruy called the meeting to order.

We’ve been doing lots of science fiction lately.
==== Vice President’s Report ====
Nothing to report.
==== Secretary’s Report ====
Nothing to report.
==== Treasurer’s Report ====
We have $2394.14.
==== Events Coordinator’s Report ====
The Events Coordinator was not present at the business meeting. The consensus among those who were present was that the first events email from Mike Henigan seemed to be in an unusual font, and was a little hard to read.
==== Public Relations Coordinator’s Report ====
The Public Relations Coordinator was not present.
==== Internet Coordinator’s Report ====
Robert Marshall is developing a Web form for filling out new events. The form, once filled in, will be emailed to Robert, who will then be able to update the calendar with the new event. Any of the officers will have the password necessary to make changes to the calendar using this form.
Robert is also working on a new php engine for the calendar that will allow it to make better use of exceptions to the regular dates. If, for example, Dan Presents is moved from its usual Saturday to a different Saturday for one month only, it will be easier to make a one-time change like that.

Ken Fernandez reported that we continue to have more history all the time.

==== Readers’ Group ====
The Readers Group, under the leadership of Wm Boozer, met in April and discussed ''Wicked'' by Gregory Maguire. It was widely disliked by the group; it was felt the characters were not well-developed.
This month the group will read ''The Snow Garden'' by Christopher Rice. Next month’s selection will be ''Mind Fuck'', by Manna Francis.
==== Writers’ Group ====
The Writers’ Group, now headed by Wendy Darling, will meet next Sunday, May 24th. The location is still to be determined.
==== Gaming ====
Strategy Gaming should have taken place yesterday, Saturday, May 16th, but no one at the business meeting was there, and no one knew where it was to have taken place.
Game Night for this month was on-site at Outlantacon.
A July host for Game Night is needed.
=== New Business ===
The Spring Picnic will be on Sunday, June 21st at 1 p.m. in the same Doraville park where last year’s picnic was held. The regular Business Meeting will precede it.
The Outworlders fan table for Dragon*Con has been arranged. It will be set up in either the Hyatt or the Sheraton this year. There are not yet any volunteers to staff the table.
A table has been arranged for Pride this year; it will also need staff.
The Atlanta Outworlders’ corporate address is still at the house Wm Boozer has just moved out of, so we need a new corporate address. Using the address of Robert Marshall’s studio or that of Ken Fernandez’s and Wm’s condo was proposed, but nothing was decided.
Upcoming movie events include ''Land of the Lost'', ''Terminator Salvation'', and ''Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen''.
''Terminator Salvation'' opens May 21st.
''Land of the Lost'' opens June 5th. Dan Benge will host that viewing.
''Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen'' opens June 24th.
