Treasurer: (absent) No significant change.
Secretary: Sent minutes.
Vice President: Donated 150 badge ribbons and handed them out to OutWorlders that were at DragonCon. Submitted application to McCoy Park, application was accepted, waiting for “full permit.” Cost: $180 + $25 for electricity. Leah reimbursed Paul but needs to be reimbursed from OutWorlders.
President: In contact with pride, discussed location and logistics. Will discuss during Unfinished Business. Hosting Game Library Committee meeting immediately after Business Meeting.
Events Coordinator: Vacant - Duties performed by President
Past Events
- Happy Hour: Held Friday, September 1, 3 PM ET @ Hilton during DragonCon. Two attendees (one new). Tried to pick a time that doesn’t compete with Queerios, but Queerios has meet ups every day.
- Game Day: Held Saturday, September 9 @ OutFront. 30 attendees (eight new). Resturant next door was open during Game Day. Robert Allen asked restaurant manager how they communicate the parking situation, was told that Valet was complimentary for the resturant and that Outfront Theater patrons could use it. Some people were charged and tried to have our attendees pay. All businesses in the area will band together and tell the valet that they must honor the complimentary valet. OutFront provided list of available dates for us to host at Outfront. We will accept all five dates.

- OutReaders Book Club: Held Saturday, August 19, 2 PM ET via Zoom. Read Heartless by Marissa Meyer. Six attendees.
Upcoming September Events
Out@theMovies: Not scheduled. Did not discuss the future of Out@theMovies, will discuss next month. Some ideas: have before happy hour, have an additional happy hour afterward.
Upcoming October/November Events: Game Day will be hosted Saturday, October 7 at Robert Marshall’s house, Pride will be October 14-15. Regular Business Meeting will be held at Pride on October 15 at 11 AM ET. Happy Hour will be at Red’s on Thursday, October 26 at 7 PM ET. OutReaders will meet Saturday, October 21 at 2 PM ET to read Good Omens by Terry Pratchett & Neil Gaiman. Out@theMovies TBD. Tentatively discussing a picnic for Sunday, November 12 at 1 PM ET at McKoy Park. Business Meeting will be held Sunday, November 19 at 11 PM ET. Out@theMovies is TBD.
Discussed low attendance numbers. Brandon discussed re-adding events to Facebook to see if that increases attendance.
Discussed rebranding Happy Hour. OutWorlders Mixer?

Unfinished Business
Vertical Sign: Will update barcode to point to an outworlders.org URL that redirects to Meetup. This will allow us to change the redirect in the event we want to promote a specific event or site.
Proposal 2023-06-B: Still on hold.
Pride: Will be under the bandstand. Robert Allen will ask for confirmation about the upstairs.
Dragon Con Ribbons: See Vice President report
Fall Picnic: Discussed hosting picnic but not doing Vibranium Chef picnic. We haven’t posted the event yet and worry people won’t have enough time to prepare a Ginger dish. Picnic will still be potluck. Need sandwiches, chips, and drinks to provide (tea, sweet tea, lemonade, and water). Leah will provide sandwiches, tea, and lemonade. Robert Marshall will bring chips, water, cups, plates, napkins, trash bags, and clips for trash bags. Robert Allen will bring games and tablecloths. If anything is missing, let Robert Allen know.
Out@theMovies Discussion: Little interest in attendance, little interest in hosting. Should pivot from in-house events to outings with movies we’d be interested in actually seeing. Re-capped last month’s discussion. Discussed making Out@theMovies ad-hoc or seasonal at Starlight Six Drive-In. This would give attendees an opportunity to socialize and do more than stare at a screen in silence. Will discuss offline.
