President: Worked with Pride to get the location secured. To be discussed in Unfinisehd Business. Thinking about hosting Game Library Committee meeting next month.

• Past Events

  • Out@theMoies: Held Saturday, July 22 @ Landmark Midtown Arts Cinema. We saw Barbie (2023), six attendees (one new).
  • Game Day: Held Saturday, August 5 @ Woofs. 27 attendees (three new). Typical Game Day.
  • Happy Hour (July): Held Thursday, August 10, 7 PM ET @ Red’s Beer Garden. Seven attendees (one new). Discussed that it would also be a good venue for Game Day. May have about 35 seats inside, hesitant to consider as a viable option until we see what it looks like on a Saturday Afternoon.
  • OutReaders Book Club: Held Saturday, August 19, 2 PM ET via Zoom. Read The Memory Librarian by Janelle Monet. Attendance not reported.

• Upcoming August Events

  Out@theMovies: Not scheduled. Did not discuss the future of Out@theMovies, will discuss next month. Some ideas: have before happy hour, have an additional happy hour afterward.

• Upcoming September/October Events: Game Day will be hosted Saturday, September 9 (the week after DragonCon) at OutFront theater, Happy Hour will be a Red’s Beer Garden on Thursday, September 14. OutReaders Book Club will meet Saturday, August 16 to discuss Hearless by Marissa Meyer. Business Meeting will meet Sunday, August 17. October Game Night will be held Saturday, October 7 at Robert Marshall’s at 7 PM ET. Pride will be October 14-15. Regular Business Meeting will be held at Pride on October 15 at 11 AM ET.

Discussed low attendance numbers. Brandon discussed re-adding events to Facebook to see if that increases attendance.

Discussed rebranding Happy Hour. OutWorlders Mixer?

PR Coordinator: Reviewed social media metrics

Internet Coordinator: Vacant. Reviewed Google Analytics data. Noted the term “outworlders” had an average position of 1.5 (Note: this means we are usually the first or second result, not page)

Bylaws: Did not meet, need to set up a virtual meeting on a Monday

OutReaders: Read The Memory Librarian by Janelle Monet. Three thumbs up, one thumb sideways.

Unfinished Business

Vertical Sign: Ready to move forward, discussed a couple ideas about the bottom of the sign.

Proposal 2023-06-B: Still on hold.

Pride: Lance Maeler informed Robert Allen that the tent is not available this year and that OutWorlders will be in the Band Stand. Robert explained reasons why the Band Stand isn’t ideal for OutWorlders (size, lack of protection from rain, accessibility issues). Lance reiterated that the tent is not available. Robert and Leah working on a second email response. Discussed how last year the covered pavilion next to the tent was unused. Will talk next month about advertising for Pride.

Dragon Con Ribbons: Robert Allen couldn’t open ribbon logos, Robert Marshall was able to open it with Adobe. Leah might post an unofficial Meetup event.

Fall Picnic: Discussed dates again, settled on Sunday, September 24. Vibranium Chef ingredient will be Ginger. Location TBD.

New Business

Out@theMovies Discussion: Postponed.

October Business Meeting: Will be held in person at Pride.

Open Floor

Briefly mentioned homes that used to host Game Night but don’t anymore.
