Officer Reports
President’s Report
Pride went well.
Vice President’s Report
We don’t know yet what the buckets brought in; that will take a few weeks to learn. This could have been better organized; we didn’t know who would be working the buckets until the shifts actually occurred.
Secretary’s Report
Pride went well. The October Breakfast Salon was lightly attended, with about eight people, but several of them were new. We still need a new, better venue for it.
Treasurer’s Report
Report transmitted by email: Participation in the buckets was good despite the poor planning for them. Bil reimbursed Robert $73.52 for the fall picnic.
Events Coordinator’s Report
Not assigned. The vice-president reported that the September 5th Saturday event went well. The Hallowe’en party will be at Robert and Jack’s house. Prizes will be awarded for Best Costume, Scariest Costume, Sexiest Costume, and for other categories as they occur to the hosts at the party. Vandy Beth offered the use of two half-empty helium tanks for the inflation of party balloons.
November Game Night will also be at Robert and Jack’s house.
Cloud Atlas opens on Friday, October 26th. We will have an outing to see it for a matinee on the 27th. Robert will host.
Public Relations Coordinator’s Report
Not assigned. Mike Henigan is helping get out the promotion and reminder emails. Robert made some fine cards for our table at Pride.
We got 147 email addresses at the table.
Soon we will turn off the extra Yahoo! Groups.
Internet Coordinator’s Report
Robert is making separate pages on the website for science fiction, horror, etc.
We need a separate page for the 3rd Saturday Breakfast Salon.
Historian’s Report
Not assigned. J.D. has put pictures from Pride up on the Facebook page.
Special Interest Groups Reports
Readers Group
Hiatus.
Gaming
Game Night in Sandy Springs was okay; around 12 people showed. A wedding reception was taking place in the same building, so we had to compete with that.
The 5th Saturday event also went well; around ten to 15 people were there on average, with about 20 total through the day.
Old Business
None.
New Business
Elections are coming up. Nominations are open as of this meeting. People must be dues-paid members of Outworlders if they want to vote.
Vandy Beth will ask Kris if she and Edward want to host a “Thanksgiving orphans” dinner.
The Holiday Party will be on Saturday, December 15, this year. We will start looking for venues.
December has a 5th Saturday. We will figure out something to do for a Fifth Saturday event.
The meeting adjourned at 11:42 a.m.
Respectfully submitted by Vandy Beth Glenn, Secretary, Atlanta Outworlders.
