March 2012

The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, March 18, 2012, at 11:31 am at Robert’s studio. Ken, Robert, Cassie, and Vandy Beth were present. The president called the meeting to order.

President’s Report

The extraneous Yahoo! groups have been shut down.

Vice President’s Report

Events Coordinator’s Report

It has been a good month! Game Night was well-attended despite occurring opposite Frolicon. Dr Who was cancelled for this month. The new 5th Saturday event went well; the next 5th Saturday event will be at the end of June.

The picnic was fun and well-attended.

There will be a bowling outing at 1 o’clock on April 28th at Midtown Bowl. Ken is hosting.

May’s Game Night will be held at Outlantacon, but still hosted by David Heinen, who’s helping to run the gaming track at Outlantacon. We will also have a room party on Friday at Outlantacon.

Robert conducted training on how to edit events on the website.

The 5th Saturday event and Game Night both went well.

Old Business

J.D. is working on something for the Mondo Homo event.

For the new Trek Trax Atlanta convention, we’ll put flyers on a table, but do nothing else.

New Business

A new Outworlders event will begin in May: The 3rd Saturday Breakfast Salon. On the third Saturday of each month at 9 a.m., everyone is invited to join Vandy Beth at a restaurant to eat breakfast and have a conversation about science fiction, politics, literature, and whatever else comes to mind.

The inaugural Salon will be at Atlanta Diner on May 19th.

The meeting adjourned at 12:15 p.m.
