January 2010
The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at 11:27 am at Atlanta Diner. Edward DeGruy, Michael Green, Wm S. Boozer, Kris Harter, Robert Marshall, and Dan Benge were present. President DeGruy called the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report
We have $3,805.15 in the bank. There is $70 not yet deposited that has been collected for 2010 dues. Treasurer is still in the process of information handover from previous Treasurer. The signature cards need to be updated at the bank. Membership to the sponsor’s group on Yahoo will be updated at the end of January. Anyone that has not paid dues for 2010 will be removed.
Events Coordinator’s Report
He is working on automating the weekly event email. He is also trying to include more ‘happenings’ from around the city and potential interesting television events.
Public Relations Coordinator’s Report
None assigned.
Internet Coordinator’s Report
Updates have been made to the officers’ email addresses to reflect the new officers. Over the last month the website is receiving about 70 visits per day with a total of 1200 hits.
Historian’s Report
Not Present.
Special Interest Groups Reports
Readers Group
The group will not meet in January or in February. The group may be disbanded due to low interest and involvement.
Writers Group
No Report
Gaming
Strategy Gaming was to be held at the home of Penn Collins but was canceled due to low turnout. February’s is to be held at Brent Philips on the 20th.
Old Business
The application to join the Gaylactic Network was submitted by Wm Boozer.
New Business
June 14th will be the 10th Anniversary of the Outworlders. Discussion included one possible way to celebrate the event was to have a viewing of X-Men. The movie outing to see the X-Men in the summer of 2000 was the first official event of the Outworlders.
Ed is maintaining a list of planned movie outings for 2010 and will be looking for other interested parties to help host the outings.
The topic of the group’s charity affiliation was discussed. Viewpoints varied between keeping Chris Kids as the current supporting charity to the possibility of dropping the affiliation all together.
Proposals
1001-1: $40 should be allocated to host a ‘Lost’ season premiere viewing on February 2nd, 2010 at the Georgia Equality Center. Submitted by Robert Marshall.
1001-2: $140 ($40 rental space, $100 food) should be allocated to host a “Charity Game Day” event.
