This month the Readers Group read Titan by John Varley. Bil really enjoyed it.
Next month’s book is City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.
Writers Group
The Writers Group did not meet.
Gaming
December Game Night will be at David and Amanda’s. December Strategy Gaming will be at Jeff Smith’s house.
Old Business
Pride went well. Many email addresses were collected, and the invitations to join the Yahoo! groups have gone out. At least a dozen new people have joined the groups since then.
Good money was brought in. Outworlders has a good relationship with the Pride people. Michael Green said the Pride chair thanked us for engaging with people.
The Hallowe’en party at Robert and Jack’s house went well. Andrew Segal had a terrific, award-winning costume.
We’re still hoping someone will volunteer to host a Thanksgiving gathering.
New Business
The 2010 budget was submitted by Treasurer Jeff Smith (see above). The standard outlay for parties has been raised to $100.
Atlanta Outworlders may host a room party for Outlantacon.
Robert Marshall suggested we should appoint a coordinator for our convention parties.
Edward DeGruy suggested that in the future, the fall picnic should be an indoor potluck instead of a picnic, due to the high chance of cold weather in the fall.
Wm Boozer submitted a proposal for us to re-associate with the Gaylactic Network, and submitted his draft of a letter to this effect, to be sent to the Gaylactic Network after deciding to re-associate. The vote will be in December.
Vandy Beth Glenn noted that the Georgia Equality venue is a very good one for events, and is very affordable. It also has a kitchen and plenty of parking.
The meeting adjourned at 12:13 p.m.
Respectfully submitted by Vandy Beth Glenn, Secretary, Atlanta Outworlders.
