OutWorlders's gives to Chris Rainbow Project some money to help their cause. They have changed their name to CHRIS Kids, Inc. You can review their organization and mission at www.chriskids.org. Please send your vote to secretary@outworlders.info or attend the October Business Meeting.
Financial Report
Jeff reported that there is $1674.59 in the OutWorlders’ account. $170 came in from DragonCon through t-shirt and wrist-band sales as well as new member dues.
*Jeff mentioned that the makers of the wrist-bands would like to list Atlanta Outworlders on its website as one of their customers. It would include a link to Outworlders website, and provide us more traffic. Jeff will check with Carlton and Adam on this.
History Report
The photo album needs to be kept up to date with newer pictures. Alan, the historian, should print some of Robert’s recent photographs for the album.
Public Relations Report
All funds allotted to Public Relations have been spent for the year, and further PR must be voted on through a proposal.
Shelby will prepare a proposal for next month about purchasing rainbow items in order to reflect the LGBT status of Outworlders. Email Shelby if you have any suggestions.
Special Interest Groups Reports
Wm reported that the readers group met on the 10th to discuss The Salt Roads, and its next meeting will be 15 October, where the group will discuss The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold. The October meeting will begin at noon because it's on the same day as the business meeting.
