MeetingMinutes:2003-09
OutWorlders
September, 2003 Minutes
The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, 21 September 2003, at 2:00 p.m. at the Atlanta Diner, the President being in the chair and the Secretary being present. The following sponsoring members were present: Bil Boozer, Ray Berg, Edward deGruy, Will Gauvin, Kris Harter, Joy Hatcher, Alan Siler, Jeff Smith, Lynn Swetz.
President's Report
Ed deGruy discussed his e-mail conversation with Peter Knapp regarding the Gaylactic Network.
Treasurer's Report
Joy Hatcher reported that the raffle at Dragon*Con was not as successful as it could have been, in part because of the scheduling problems with the party. Because the party had to be moved to Sunday night (after the drawing), no raffled tickets were sold at the party. Roughly $326 was raised; the hotel discounted the room to about $70 and provided a $100 voucher toward a room next year. The voucher must be used by 31 August 2004, and it is in Joy Hatcher's name. $150 of the money collected at Dragon*Con will be donated to CHRIS Rainbow Home.
On behalf of the organization, Joy Hatcher offered kudos to Kris Hatcher for staffing the fan table during Dragon*Con and for dealing with Joy's insanity over the room reservation problems.
Approximately $500 remains in the OutWorlders account; most of this money will go toward paying for the Internet site, ordering checks, and purchasing one or more new banners.
Events Coordinator's Report
Kris Harter announced that a team of OutWorlders would be participating in the AIDS Walk on 19 October. Anyone interested in joining the team can do so by visiting the AIDS Walk web site (www.aidswalk.org) and identifying "Atlanta OutWorlders" as their team.
01 October 2003 will be the season premiere of "Angel" and an event is being planned for Miss Q's. However, it's not clear if they're going to be showing "Smallville" before "Angel."
The Quarterly Gaming Night is this Friday, 26 September 2003. Bil will be posting directions to the Announcements list.

The next meeting of the OutWorldReaders is Sunday, 12 October 2003, at Pete's place. Up for discussion is Mistress of Dragons' by Margaret Weis.

Author: Alan Siler
Alan Siler indicated that he would be posting a description of the planned party along with a call for volunteers.
The September regular business meeting adjourned at 3:00 p.m. The next regular business meeting will be 19 October 2003 at 2 p.m. at the Atlanta Diner.
Respectfully submitted, Bil Boozer, Secretary
