Proposal 2019-06-A. Revive the OutWorlders Book Club

WHEREAS, the OutWorlders book club, a SIG (Appendix A), has not met since approximately 2015 (Appendix B); and

WHEREAS, the book club’s existence is unknown to most members; and

WHEREAS, Robert Allen, a Sponsoring Member, would like to lead an OutWorlders book club;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:

  1. OutWorlders revives the OutWorlders book club SIG.
  2. OutWorlders allocates $25 to print one hundred (100) branded bookmarks to advertise the book club.
  3. OutWorlders names Robert Allen as the book club group coordinator.


ADOPTED this 21st day of July 2019 by a vote of 14 for, 0 against, and 1 present.

03-05-01. Establishing an On-Line Billing Account
Resolved, THAT OutWorlders set up an on-line account (such as PayPal) to accept on-line donations, dues, and funds from fund-raising activities. (Author: Chris Coppeans)
The proposal was adopted by a vote of 9 in favor, 0 opposed, and 1 present. (Absentee ballots from Chris Coppeans and Zoe King were included in the voting.)

03-05-02. Making the Book Discussion Group a Special Interest Group
Resolved, THAT the readers' group be an official special interest group, whose purpose is to discuss books that fit the focus of the OutWorlders. (Author: Chris Coppeans)

Readers Group
The next Reader’s Group meeting will take place on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at Amelie’s French Bakery. As a result of the poll posted on Facebook, the group is reading The Gumshoe, the Witch, and the Virtual Corpse by Keith Hartman.

Proposal 2019-06-B. Funding for The Phillip Rush Center Venue

WHEREAS, The Phillip Rush Center (1530 Dekalb Avenue NE, Suite A, Atlanta, GA 30307) offers a waived venue fee for organizations that work directly with LGBTQ communities; and

WHEREAS, The Phillip Rush Center requires a cost of renting the Event Room at a discounted rate of $50.00/hour;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that OutWorlders allocates $200.00 towards the rental of the Phillip Rush Center on October 5, 2019, for our Costume theme Game Night.

Proposal 2019-06-C. Additional Funding for Dames and Dregs Festival

WHEREAS, Proposal 2019-03-A. Funding for Dames and Dregs Festival was adopted in April, allocating $200 towards equipment and decorations; and

WHEREAS, the cost for video game equipment has increased from $100 to $200;

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that OutWorlders increases the allocation for Dames and Dregs Festival by $100 ($200 for video game equipment, $100 for decorations).

Proposal 2019-06-D. Increased Funding for Summer and Fall Picnic

WHEREAS, The average cost of the picnic has increased from $200 to approximately $250; and

WHEREAS, there would only be $67 left to spend on food and supplies after the venue costs;

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, as follows:

  1. OutWorlders allocates an additional $50 to the Summer Picnic, allowing $117 for food and supplies.
  2. OutWorlders allocates an additional $50 to the Fall Picnic for a total budget of $250.
