OutWorlders, Inc.

November 2008

The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, 16 November 2008, at 2:00PM at Atlanta Diner. Ed Degruy, Vandy Beth Glenn, Robert Marshall, Kris Harter, Dan Benge, Bil Boozer, Aimee Love and Chris Hensley were present. President Degruy called the meeting to order.

Officer Reports

President’s Report

  • Nominations for election of 2009 officers were opened in October and will close at the end of the November Business Meeting.

Vice President’s Report

  • Nothing to Report

Secretary’s Report

  • Nothing to Report

Treasurer’s Report

  • We have $2835.22
  • A copy of the 2009 budget was provided to the Secretary and the President

Events Coordinator’s Report

  • Star Trek night and Doctor Who night (special edition) will be held on November 21 and 22, respectively.
  • Details for the Thanksgiving get-together need to be nailed down.
  • Details for a Holiday party need to be considered.

Public Relations Coordinator’s Report

  • Not present

  • Nothing to report

Historian’s Report

  • Not present

Special Interest Groups Reports

Reader’s Group

The reader’s group met Sunday, 09 November, 2008 to discuss On Wings of Song by Thomas M. Disch. We saw some interesting ideas, but in general we were disappointed with it. For December, we’re reading Without Reservations by J. D. Langley.

Writer’s Group

The writers group meets next in January 2009.

Strategy Gaming

Brent hosted strategy gaming and there were 14 people present.

New Business

  • A proposal was made by Robert Marshall that $50 be spent for the holiday party hosted by JD Harvill on 20 December 2008.

Old Business

  • The proposal that $50 be spent for the Doctor Who 45th Anniversary Party passed.
  • There were 56 people who attended Outlantacon
  • Aimee and Chris will work and Evite for Thanksgiving
  • Nominations for 2009 Officers are now closed

The meeting adjourned at 2:30 PM
