OutWorlders, Inc.

October 2006

The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, 15 October 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Atlanta Diner. Wm S. Boozer, Dan Benge, Robert Marshall, Jeff Smith, Shelby Smith, and Bruce were present.

Old Business

  • Pending Proposal

    Last month’s proposal to donate $200 to CHRIS Kids, Inc. was voted upon. The secretary did not receive any emailed votes. It passed unanimously during the meeting.

    Every year Atlanta OutWorlders’s gives to Chris Rainbow Project some money to help their cause. They have changed their name to CHRIS Kids, Inc. You can review their organization and mission at www.chriskids.org.

New Business

  • Proposal

    It was proposed that Atlanta OutWorlders Inc. designate $100 to spend on the Holiday Party scheduled for December 16 at Robert’s house.

  • Volunteer Project

    Shelby will investigate possible projects for volunteering, including CHRIS Kids and the Atlanta Food Bank.

  • Nominations

    It is time to begin the elections process for next year’s officers. We need an elections chair to run it. There are four elected offices: President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary. Nominations were made and seconded for the following:

    Treasurer: Jeff Smith
    Secretary: Shelby Smith

    The nominations process will be open until the end of the next business meeting, November 19.

Treasurer’s Report

Jeff reported that there is $1610.99 in the OutWorlders’ account.

Event Coordinator’s Report

The Halloween Party is scheduled for October 28th at Robert’s house. There will be a Decorating Party on October 21 to get the house ready for the party, and since it coincides with Anime Night, the two events are combined. Email Robert for details at [Redacted]

The Holiday Party is scheduled for December 16. Robert volunteered his house.

A New Year’s party is scheduled for the fifth Saturday on December 30th. It will be at Carlton’s house.

Special Interest Groups Reports

Wm reported that the Readers Group met on the 15th to discuss The Curse of Chalion by Lois McMaster Bujold and its next meeting will be November 12, where the group will discuss Strang Robby by Selina Rosen.

Wm also report that the Writers’ Group met on September 24th and discussed pieces by Wm S Boozer and Gilbert Otero. The next meeting is October 22.

Gaylactic Outpost will hold its next meeting on October 18th at Robert’s house.
