OutWorlders, Inc.

The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, 16 July 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at Atlanta Diner. Ken Fernandez, Carlton Harrington, Jeff Smith, Robert Marshal, Bill Boozer, and Alan Siler were present.

DragonCon was discussed. It was mentioned that both Kris Rhoeling and Mike Hennigan said they would help print fliers if they were provided information. We are still in search of a volunteer for Public Relations. What was need at our table was discussed; including that Gaylaxicon 2007 would share the table. Outworlders will be helping with the Trek Trak party again. The Outworlders will host a party on Sunday night. A proposal was made to be voted on at the next meeting:

Be it resolved that Outworlders use $75 to provide party necessities for DragonCon. This will not include any alcohol.

Jeff reported that Outworlders currently has %1706.43 and that we received 468.75 from out Pride collections. This is lower than last year. This was attributed to 3 factors: The shortage of volunteers at times, the overlapping with other groups at times and Pride being closed early two days of the event. Jeff brought up the possibility of selling the rainbow bracelets during upcoming Cons. The concensus was that it was a good idea.

Bill reported for the Readers Group that on July 9th they discussed Dance of Knives by Donna McMahon. Four people were present. On August 13 they will meet to discuss A Scanner Darkly by Philip K. Dick.

He also reported that the writers group cancelled their June meeting. The July meeting is July 27th. The meeting will be to review stories for the DragonCon project; however, due to a shortage of stories the project is not expected to happen this year.

Bill who was recently elected Speaker for the Gaylactic Network reminded everyone that there are currently 2 openings on the board.
