OutWorlders, Inc.

The regular business meeting of OutWorlders was held on Sunday, 20 June 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Atlanta Diner, the President being in the chair and the Secretary being present. Members present: Ray Berg, Bil Boozer, Amy Coppeans, Chris Coppeans, Ed deGruy, Michael Green, Janet Guse, Kris Harter, Michael Liebmann, Alan Siler, Jeff Smith, Amanda Wiggins.

Treasurer’s Report

Jeff Smith reported that the organization had raised $169.41 from raffle sales and donations at Science Fiction Summer Con the previous weekend.

Historian’s Report

Kris Harter reported that she is putting together the scrapbook for display at the Pride Festival, and she needs pictures from 2003 OutWorlders events.

Events Coordinator’s Report

Alan Siler reported that OutWorlders attendance at the Science Fiction Summer Con was “great.” Judges recognized OutWorlders for having the best party (although the prize money went to the third place winner).

Dragon*Con

Members discussed how OutWorlders should present itself at Dragon*Con. There will be a fan table set up throughout the event. Michael Green agreed to coordinate OutWorlders participation in the ConSuite party on Friday night. Alan Siler agreed to coordinate OutWorlders’ hosting a room party on Saturday night, possibly in the Marriott instead of the Hyatt. Members discussed whether this room party should be a public or private event but came to no conclusion. Finally, Kris Harter and Ed deGruy agreed to coordinator OutWorlders’ participation in the Trek Track party on Sunday night.

Gaylactic Network

Alan Siler introduced the idea of the organization’s rejoining the Gaylactic Network (http://www.gaylatic-network.org/). Additionally, he suggested the OutWorlders could host Gaylaxicon in 2007. Much discussion ensued. Alan also suggested the creation of a “Convention Coordinator” position.

The meeting adjourned at 3:15 p.m. The next scheduled meeting is 18 July 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Atlanta Diner.
